You will serve as a FIREFIGHTER (BLS/HAZMAT TECHNICIAN of COMMANDER NAVY REGION MARIANAS.

Duties

You will assist fire fighter crews engaged in structural firefighting and rescue operations. You will assist in reducing and/or eliminating potential fire hazards. You will assist in performing structural firefighting duties for a variety of facilities that may include research and/or large industrial complexes. You will assist and participate in controlling and extinguishing fires by operating hoses, ladders, and hydrants. You will assist in performing Basic Life Support tasks. You will assist in the operation of firefighting vehicles, such as pumpers and aerial ladder trucks. You will assist in performing hazard and risk assessment and conduct incident analysis.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.

Your resume must demonstrate at least at six months of general work experience or military service that demonstrates your ability to follow directions and to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures and that otherwise demonstrates your ability to perform or learn to perform the duties of the position. Education


Applicants may also qualify based on education OR a combination of education and experience, in lieu of the six months of general experience listed above, through one of the following:
  • Successfully completed firefighter training that was obtained as part of a high school curriculum; or
  • Successfully completed one year of related education or firefighter training; or
  • A combination of education and experience that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
