The primary purpose of this position is to exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing trades and labor work in Vehicle Operations Element, 21st Logistics Readiness Squadron.

- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program.
- Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
- Incumbent of this position is subject to the possibility of a random drug test.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- A valid Driver’s License is required for this position.
- Incumbent must possess or have the capability to acquire a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with a P (passenger) endorsement within 12 months of assignment.
- Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.
- This position requires a physical/medical examination. The physical requirements of this position as determined by the manager are: Physical effort is moderate to heavy.
- Work requires reaching, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Associated duties require stooping, bending, and climbing.
- Lifts and carries objects weighing up to 40 pounds and heavier objects with assistance.
- Shift work may be required; Overtime may be required.
- May occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station and travel on military and/or commercial aircraft.
- May be required to perform other duties in support of extended mission requirements based on the scope of the mission during times of conflict or staffing shortages; May have additional duties assigned.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5700 Transportation/Mobile Equipment Operation Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is the ability to do the work of a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR SUPERVISOR without more than normal supervision.

1. Knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s) supervised and personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity/ Equal Employment Treatment.
2. Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and /or test equipment common to trades supervised.

5. Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
