This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Cyber Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as a USAACE Directorate or Brigade level Information Management Officer (IMO), User Representative (UR) and assistant to the CIO/G6 who is designated the Center Senior Information Management located in Fort Eustis, Virginia.
Duties
Develops modifications and procedures to resolve problems and initiates corrective action.
Provides recommendations and advise to preclude any potential adverse impacts concerning major project ramifications.
Assists the CIO/G6 and IT Operations Officer in effectively managing the directorate or brigade's IT processes and resources that enable the directorate or brigade’s business and mission processes.
Manages and coordinates the acquisition of information technology assets, e.g. computer hardware/software, network devices, and reutilization of IT assets for major systems.
Plan complex projects, developing new methods, approaches and/or evaluation techniques for collecting and reporting project status data.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain Secret background investigation.
- Temporary travel duty up to 10% of the time.
- Incumbent will require to successfully complete a physical examination.
- May require of heavy lifting up to 40 lbs..
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain cyber certifications within 6 months of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience overseeing implementation and modification of the NIPR/SIPR network architecture; analyzes networking equipment and software, copper and fiber optic cables reliability and utilization reports for large, complex equipment and software systems to identify and correct problem areas and to establish telecommunications performance levels; performing in-depth analysis and project management of automated and manual systems related to networks and/or telecommunications to accomplish implementation goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
Individual Occupational Requirements
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
