You will serve as a Deputy Team Chief in support of the management of NIH research, medical, and administrative facilities.
Duties
As a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist, you will:
Work with senior leadership in planning and evaluating the maintenance, repair, and operations of the physical facilities and building systems
Serve as a technical expert and furnish technical suggestions and advice on equipment used by services located in the building(s)
Provide technical assistance concerning maintenance management techniques, equipment replacement, contract maintenance services and cost effectiveness of various maintenance practices and work methods.
Conduct periodic inspections assuring all functions are performed, reviewing all features of maintenance functions and responsibilities and report results.
Make decisions on work problems presented by the supervisors and contractors.
Oversee the development of official training plans and implementation of a technical training program to ensure employees are prepared to perform their duties as technology changes and various new equipment and systems are installed and operated.
Requirements

- If accessing our BSL Labs you will be required to complete annual BSL safety trainings, work in hazardous environments or around hazardous substances and requires you to obtain and maintain a Tier 2, Moderate Risk security clearance.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist GS-1640-12 position, you must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: managing a preventive maintenance program for building systems; reviewing plans, standards and requirements for maintenance and construction activities; performing strategic planning to include budget development, procurement of supplies, materials, and services; overseeing operations for conformance with project plans.
