Duties
Plan, supervise, and coordinate all work requirements and complex projects to maintain NIH buildings related to Central Utilities.
Oversee operation and maintenance activities within the Central Utilities Plant, including NIH's Thermal Energy Storage System, Industrial Water Storage System and Cogeneration Plant, a 24/7/365 shift operation.
Oversee facility management resources including personnel, service contracts, financial programs, space utilization, and information resources.
Develop both short- and long-range budgetary requirements for the operating budget and the NIH Building and Facilities Five-Year Plan.
Supervise a staff of wage grade and general schedule employees and supervisors responsible for carrying out utilities maintenance and operations functions for Central Utilities and Cogeneration Plant.
Requirements

Qualifications
To qualify for the Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist GS-1640-13 position, you must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: managing facility operations programs and services for a central utilities or cogeneration plant; developing policies and procedures to ensure compliant and reliable facility operations and utilities systems to support organizational programs; analyze and identify trends and issues affecting the quality, reliability, and efficiency of facility operations; and providing supervision and direction to subordinate staff.
