This position is in Flight Program Operations (AJF), Operations Control, Planning and Analysis, Operations Control Group. Serves as a principal technical specialist responsible for communicating operational changes during mission execution with stakeholders in AJF, Air Traffic Services (AJT), System Operations Services (AJR), and Technical Operations (AJW).
Duties
Performs work of broad scope and complexity by maintaining operational awareness of Flight Program Operations’ daily missions and movements of crew and aircraft assigned to the operating certificate. Demonstrates a sound understanding of the National Airspace System (NAS) and the potential impact AJF’s missions have on the NAS, to make positive contact with internal and external stakeholders to minimize impact to the flow of air traffic.

- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
- Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the FV-I (GS/FG-13) level, applicants must have at least 52 weeks of Specialized Experience equivalent to the FV-H (GS/FG-12) level that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: includes experience making collaborative operational decisions to meet the urgency of stakeholder's needs; Experience troubleshooting problems and relaying possible solutions to stakeholders; Experience influencing policy and procedure improvements; Experience collaborating with various entities to ensure the safe and orderly flow of air traffic; Experience with crew scheduling and/or aircraft dispatching.In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following has been determined to be a selective factor for this position. This means possession of this criterion is part of the minimum qualifications and is essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Applicants who do not possess this criterion are ineligible for further consideration.Selective Placement Factor (SPF): Applicants must possess one of the following: Flight Dispatcher certificate, Airway System Mission Specialist certificate, or an Airway System Inspection Pilot certificate. Or, experience scheduling and coordinating flight inspection activities or coordinating real-time command, control and oversight of the National Airspace System (NAS). A copy of your certificate (front & back) must be uploaded to receive consideration for this position.
