The NNSA Management and Budget team provides timely, cost-effective, and efficient administrative and financial support for NNSA Headquarters staff. The team designs and administers the corporate planning, programming, budgeting, and evaluation (PPBE) system, including supporting cost estimations and analysis of alternatives.

Duties

As a Budget Analyst you will: Serve as a Budget Analyst, performing budget formulation, justification, and/or execution of program objectives, operations, and related financial resource requirements and program activities for a major segment of activities and programs related to national nuclear security initiatives. Monitor Headquarters, Office of Management and Budget, and Congressional action on program budgets. Advise senior leaders and/or program managers of changes in funding levels resulting from budget actions. Perform budget planning and execution, and provide authoritative information on changing or conflicting budget, fiscal and program guidelines and conditions. Implement the Federal and DOE/NNSA departmental budget processes, policies and procedures in order to accomplish the agency's mission and program goals. Develop, implement, and interpret broad supplemental policy guidance to be followed in preparing multiyear annual program plans, funding estimates, and schedules required for their execution. Maintain systems and reporting capabilities to support internal and external customers' budget needs. Prepare site and program budget estimates, multi-year annual program plans and long-range planning, resource levels to accomplish program requirements. Coordinate with all levels of management and professionals within and outside the agency to resolve problems identified from the integration and correlation of budget and financial systems information, administrative funds control, and periodic reporting for Federal budget activities.
