The Hershel "Woody" Williams Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Huntington, WV (HWW VAMC) and is one of six tertiary medical facilities within the VA Capitol Health Care Network, Veteran's Integrated Service Network (VISN) 5. The HWW VAMC is an 80 bed, level 1c complexity facility that provides services to over 30,000 Veterans across 27 counties in southern West Virginia, southern Ohio and eastern Kentucky, with over half of our patient population living in rural communities.

Duties

Duties may include: Assist with preparations for accreditation and other surveys. Protects the confidentiality of all peer review documents and other quality management documents as appropriate. Assist staff with entry of information into the QuiTT program. Time and attendacnce for quality management. Sends out peer review committee agenda and case files to the appropriate members and other designees no less than 5 day prior to the scheduled meeting. Collects all documents at the conclusion of peer review committee meetings. Tracks services level policies for quality management and notifies staff of need for updates. Serves as ADPAC and record control representative for quality management. Places supply orders (example: office supplies) for quality management. Updates QM Huddle Board no less than twice a week. Utilizes the huddle board to track timelines of peer review cases maintaining compliance with 45-days and 120-days deadlines Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/26/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-09 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: documentation of meeting minutes for facility committees. (Example: Peer Review committee, Transfusion committee, Invasive Procedures/Moderate Sedation committee, Pain Oversight committee, etc), Prepares notifications to providers of each peer review case for all final 1 level cases. Works with the Risk Manager to notify providers of all tentative level 2 and 3 cases and all final level 2 and 3 cases. Peer review spreadsheets - enters new cases, updates cases on the spreadsheet as they move through the process, prepares final submission to VISN 5 quarterly. Serves as ADPAC and record control representative for quality management. Places supply orders (example: office supplies) for quality management. Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Administration and ManagementClericalCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is performed in an office with frequent visits to various areas within the medical center. The work is primarily sedentary, although there are at time periods of significant mental stress due to workload and time constraint considerations. Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in an office setting with potential to travel to the VISN and other facilities for meetings and/or training.
