This is a Direct Hire Authority solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The incumbent is responsible for the daily operation of the warehouse. The incumbent serves as the agent responsible for the receiving, storing, and assembling for issue and shipment of a variety of maintenance and office supplies, furniture, equipment, or similar type warehouse stock.

Duties

Receives, inspects, and unloads all supplies, equipment, and furniture using hand carts or other non-mechanized conveyances or a forklift. Completes receiving reports and inventory sheets and submitting those to the property book officer. Packs and loads furniture, supplies, and other items for shipment to field offices or property disposal sites. Stores items for maximum convenience of handling and ease of movement. Utilizes a computer to process receiving reports, invoice and transmit bills for payments, and prepare monthly facility distributions and accruals. Coordinates and assists with vehicle reservations, issuance and return of vehicles.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Subject to a pre-employment physical and subsequent periodic physicals.

  • Must posses and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • Must possess or obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator's license within 12 months of employment.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Handler (FLO/MVO) without more than normal supervision. I can assist in organizing and arranging stock in a warehouse and maintaining logs and files to document receipt and distribution of warehouse stock. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: The incumbent must possess the ability to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds. Heavier items are moved with weight handling equipment or with assistance from other employees. Required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, and to bend, stoop and work in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Must meet physical qualifications required for permit to operate a forklift truck and motor vehicle weighing up to l/2 ton. Working Condition: Work is performed inside warehouse in bin rooms, in open storage areas and on receiving and shipping docks. The areas may be hot, damp, cold, drafty or poorly lighted. Work is performed in closed quarters. Regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasion falls and injury from falling stock. Exposed to dust, dirt, grease, and solvents. Work requires wearing safety shoes in the performance of official duties.

Education
