You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST (ANTI-TERROISM/FORCE PROTECTION (AT/FP) OFFICER) in REGIONAL SECURITY DIRECTORATE, REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY of COMNAVREG MIDLANT NORFOLK.

Duties

You will develop new policies and procedures and issues directives to ensure all activities maintain the highest degree of AT/FP readiness. You will evaluate and develop physical security plans to support CNRMA’s critical assets. You will be a subject matter expert in a wide range of anti-terrorism/force protection and security concepts, principles, and practices to review independently, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex force protection and security problems. You will advise top level security and subject matter officials on new developments and advances in security. You will have in-depth knowledge of anti-terrorism/force protection in order to plan and implement protective methods and security procedures. You will develop innovative solutions to identified problems with existing force protection and security operations. You will prepare AT/FP briefs for Public Safety Program Director. You will have excellent communication skills in order to communicate effectively orally and in writing with all types of high level personnel, military and civilians.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning, developing and coordinating anti-terrorism /force protection (AT/FP) exercise projects and programs; 2) Conducting assessments of complex facilities or sites to determine compliance with DoD AT/FP instructions and directives; 3) Performing key decision making and policy development for a DoD security program; 4) Planning work to be accomplished by security personnel by setting deadlines, priorities, and schedules for completion; AND 5) Determining AT/Security requirements for installations, commands/activities and special events based on DoD AT instructions, directives and doctrine.
