This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer (OCRSO), Systems and Information Integration Office (SI2O). OCRSO is responsible for mission support, logistics integration, and DHS's real estate, personal property, and fleet and mobile assets portfolios. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a IT Data Analyst in the Analysis Branch within SI2O. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.

Duties

SI2O delivers and facilitates data and information sharing to enable insights, innovation, performance measurement and strategic decision making for the Department's mission support operations. With a focus on data science, analytics, reporting, data and information sharing and governance, and mission support, SI2O strives to build a culture of data driven decision making and to enhance the workforce's ability to leverage data and analytics. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an IT Data Analyst in the SI2O Analysis Branch. As a IT Data Analyst, GS-2210-13, your typical work assignments may include: Utilizing programming skills, statistics, geospatial analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, data visualization and critical thinking skills. Utilizing statistical techniques while leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence where possible to speed analytical process and analyze the data to identify patterns and trends and interpret the data to discover solutions and opportunities. Providing expert guidance on data-driven strategies and methodologies. Enabling a culture of data and evidence-based decision making through leading the development of analytical products and services. Collaborating with data stakeholders across levels, including leadership within and across DHS, other federal agencies, and industry leaders on databases, data warehouses, and data lakes to ensure analytical utility of data in various applications. Providing tailored, rapid, and agile answers to data-related questions that do not require application development to enable novel insights into the most pressing mission requirements Creates and presents clear and impactful visualizations of data insights to diverse audiences. Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: 1) Using techniques that incorporate performance measurements, data analysis, and life cycle costs to identify enterprise alternatives and recommended courses of action; 2) Analyzing the intrinsic value of the available data, and collaborating on how to fully share, integrate and leverage data for all associated mission support and logistics integration functions; 3) Documenting comprehensive systems-based methods and procedures to determine and measure the reliability, accuracy, fidelity, and validity of data. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement. Note: Current or former Federal employees MUST submit a copy of their SF-50 Form which shows competitive service appointment ("position occupied" block 34 on the SF-50 should show a "1"), tenure group (block 24 should show a 1 or 2), grade, and salary.
