You will Support 412 TW through deployment and sustainment of robust operational capabilities, programs and services. Provide proven infrastructure capabilities to meet the needs of America's premier Air Force Test Center and all Edwards' customers while anticipating the challenges of the cyberspace domain.

Duty 1: Responsible for the receiving, imaging, inventory, and deployment of all new and refresh systems, in addition to the proper removal of the outdated systems on the Edwards network. Ensures all software is authorized for Edwards and properly licensed if software application is above the base standard image. Sets-up, relocates, and installs new desktop systems, servers, and related peripherals. Rebuilds hard drives with approved standard image. With guidance builds and maintains AF approved standard image utilizing and testing various equipment and system configurations. Ensures all approved Time Compliance Network Orders are applied as of image date. Provides assistance to the user in uploading data files to an applicable server, installing applications above the standard configuration, installs/reinstalls hardware components and drivers, returning user data files to original status.
Coordinates with property custodians for proper documentation of transferring new refresh systems and removing old systems assigned to users. Demonstrates processes and procedures to users; provides training as required for personnel within assigned area of responsibility. Keeps current on changes in applications, hardware, software, and related technology.
Duty 2: With guidance and assistance, is responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing all hardware, software, network failures, in addition to providing a solution for every service request elevated to the assigned tier. Performs hardware support such as installation of hardware component level upgrades including, disk drives, motherboards, network interface cards, CD-ROMs, video cards, memory, and other internal boards. Identifies processes and problems relative to the design of systems and implements recommended corrective action. Plans, coordinates, and installs applications software and hardware for operating systems. Administers and maintains assigned systems.
Enhances automated systems to improve system response times for users. Provides on-going technical advice and guidance to customers in the operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and a variety of other routine IT issues. Provides hardware, software, and network remedial on-site maintenance on all desktops, servers, and related peripheral items that are not covered under an existing maintenance contract or warranty support program. Ensures all equipment warranty status is verified prior to installing replacement hardware. Responds to user problems by analyzing, and resolving malfunctions, adjusting equipment configurations, and recommending appropriate acquisitions to optimize program advantages. Provides technical assistance, systems advisory services, and training.
Duty 3: At the direction of senior level technicians will provide support in the daily operations and sustainment of enterprise configuration management. Documents and provides input on current procedures and standards for response to major enterprise outages, network backup and recovery, desktop configurations and interfaces, administration, security auditing, and connection monitoring. Provides support at the direction of senior security technicians with the installation, configuration, and integration of hardware and software from a project or organization to the base desktop operational environment. Obtains performance data collections and conducts analysis of current procedures to make quality improvement recommendations to senior technicians. Obtains technical training on problem and incident resolution and network management software.

- Obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance
- The incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 in the federal service.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Knowledge of basic LAN/WAN and system principles and practices sufficient to install, configure, and to troubleshoot components.
Knowledge of concepts and techniques required to assist in the planning, operation, and maintenance of a LAN/WAN, including the installation and implementation of enhancements.
Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply computer sciences and information technology principles and practices.
Knowledge of systems analysis principles and techniques; process engineering concepts; enterprise IT architecture and new IT technologies, (e.g., e-business ideas, prototypes, pilots, and operational applications).
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more personnel to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Education
Basic Requirements
This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience.
Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
