You will serve as the Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Armstrong Flight Research Center, serving in a position that involves the operational activities associated with a variety of IT requirements in support of the Center CIO, the local center mission, and the NASA Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).
Duties
Solve complex challenges, supporting team members, representing AFRC OCIO at Center and Agency forums, requirements development, implementation/integration, and evaluation of services.
Integrate local Center and Mission requirements into Agency IT Strategy; support development of customer requirements helping turn those into solutions to customer challenges.
Work with service customers, service organizations, and contractors to gather and verify service and budget requirements and identify opportunities for meeting individual requirements with shared strategy and solutions.
Ensure execution of OCIO service delivery; continuously monitor support of Enterprise delivered contract services; support various IT needs for customers.
Support the technical integration of local and enterprise capabilities and services with other center customers and coordination of enterprise architecture and strategic development activities to support requirements
Maintain awareness of the unique center mission requirements and activities and ensure the optimal configuration and implementation of the full suite of OCIO services so it is aligned with Agency plans.
Communicate complex technical information to non-technical personnel, managing reporting processes, and developing a connection between Agency OCIO and AFRC OCIO.
Coordinate activities across multiple sections of the OCIO’s multiple contracts, supporting a customer base that includes NASA civil servants, contractors, and others across the Center and Agency in support of various missions.
Leading team members and customers, identify problems and recommend changes in technical operations, procedures, and integrated delivery of quality IT services.
Perform a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level
Leading a team, project, or other activity for the delivery of IT products or services, which includes collaborating with mission/business partners to identify and deliver required IT solutions.
Providing IT expertise to support the technical management of OCIO services with varied customers which may include coordination of technical design and development activities to support stakeholder, mission, and Agency strategic requirements.
Developing, implementing, and/or monitoring Information Technology policy and planning to ensure efficiency and compliance.
AND
You MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
