You will serve as an ASSISTANT PATIENT ADMINISTRATION OFFICER in the PATIENT ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT of NMRTC TWENTY NINE PALMS CA.
Duties
You will conduct a wide range of patient administration related functions within the hospital.
You will provide medical principles and practices required to support the administrative needs of the Military Health Services System.
You will oversee the day-to-day medical readiness of the Patient Administration Department.
You will provide continuous measurement, assessment, and improvement of department functions
You will resolve management-employee problems
You will assign, distribute and review work of subordinates.
You will organize and coordinate all Decedent Affairs functions for deaths occurring at NMRCTC 29 Palms
You will serve as the survivor benefits counselor pertaining to the educational, Veterans Administration and other survivor benefits
You will communicate with the responsible County Coroner on all cases involving Active Duty., Military Dependents and Retired Military member deaths
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience establishing plans, controls, and supportive mechanisms to ensure quality patient administrative services (e.g., birth certificates, organ donations, HIPAA Protocols).
Experience managing administrative obligations for medical and physical evaluation boards to track medical readiness determinations (e.g., Integrated Disability Evaluation System and Limit Duty Cases).
Experience organizing Decedent Affair functions for deceased members in accordance with Decedent Affair Program policies.
Experience inspecting remains of deceased and instructing medical staff on handling care.
Experience leading a patient admin department by resolving management-employee problems, distributing workload, and evaluating performance.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
