You will serve as an AVIATION OPERATIONS COORDINATOR in the MAGTF Training Directorate (MTD) of the OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL.

Duties

You will require thorough knowledge of USMC aviation operations and the 6 functions of Marine Aviation. You will need to be a Naval Aviator or have spent years working in and around integrating Aviation into Ground Schemes of maneuver. You will have demonstrated detailed experience in integration of USMC aviation, training and technologies. You will assist the G3 Air Officer in advising the Commanding General, as well as the exercise force Marine Air Group, and supporting squadrons and detachments, in the execution of Service Level Training Air Operations and other air operations. You will assist the G3 Air Officer in leading and managing the service level training (SLT) Future Aviation Operations Planning; act as the Air Officer for specific G3 events. You will lead continuous improvement efforts for Aviation Training.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position requires rotating shift work.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and executing Marine Air Group and Squadron level training (or related training), integration of aviation and aviation assets; and synchronization and coordination of all aviation activities across the command.
