You will serve as a RANGE CONTROL OFFICER in the Range Management and Control Division of OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL.
Duties
You will be responsible for all matters pertaining to firing and maneuver ranges and related functions.
You will provide consolidated point of contact to schedule and control all training areas and firing ranges utilizing the Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS).
You will develop and implement a training/certification program to train range personnel in range safety/operations.
You will develop, coordinate (internally and externally), and manage the range safety program.
You will schedule, coordinate, control, inspect and operate field-firing ranges, firing positions, maneuver areas, airspace and impact areas.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- The incumbent is required to sign an agreement not to disclose, in any manner, Classified Information to unauthorized persons.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with all matters pertaining to firing and maneuver ranges and related functions; Coordinating all operations of Range Control, Range Safety, and Range Scheduling; AND scheduling, coordinating, controlling, inspecting, and operating field-firing ranges, firing positions, maneuver areas, airspace and impact areas.
