You will serve as a PLUMBER in the Naval Facilities Engineering Command of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.
A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary.
Duties
You will interpret instructions, sketches, blueprints, and building plans to fulfill plumbing system installation or repair requests.
You will adjust plumbing systems for operation, flow, drainage, and sanitary conditions.
You will lay out new or existing piping systems for installation or major repair.
You will determine the repairs needed through testing or inspecting of assigned plumbing equipment.
You will lay out the installation and modification of systems, level of gas and water lines, and the location or arrangement of water closets, sinks, or fire sprinkler equipment.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- May be required to serve on-call duty on a rotational basis. When on-call, incumbent is required to carry a duty cell phone and duty pager and must remain available to respond on site to after-hour emergencies within two hours.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Assisting the journeyman in the installing, modifying, repairing, and testing new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems; sewage, water, oil, gas distribution systems; and water closets, sinks, tubs, and showers. 2) Finding and repairing leaks, locate and clears blockages. 3) Assisting the journeyman in installing and repairing low pressure heating and piping systems. 4) Assisting in installing and repairing HVAC chilled water and hot water lines and bores holes in structures through which piping must pass. 5) Having the ability to measure, cut, bend, and thread pipe, caulk and seal elbows, union joints, tile pipe, faucets, and shower drains. 6) Having the ability to hook up equipment such as water heaters and disposal units; and to replace sections of pipe. 7) Having the fundamental knowledge of the theory, principles and practices of the plumbing trade and the simpler tasks of the pipefitting trade.
