Duties

You will remove, install, repair and rebuild cylinder heads, cylinder blocks, and oil pumps. You will repair and overhaul brake systems including mechanical, hydraulic, air over hydraulic, direct air and vacuum over hydraulic. You will repair and overhaul conventional and front drive axles. You will replace related component parts including pressure plates, discs, release bearings and sleeves, and pilot bearings. You will rebuild, install and adjust water pumps, shutters and shutter state.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This position is considered Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid Class B Virginia CDL within 6 months of employment.
  • You will be required to hold an ASE master certifications in heavy truck and automotive.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: the ability to lead or supervise passing on to others workers the instructions received from the supervisor; ensuring that needed materials, part and tools are available; checking work in progress to ensure that instructions have been followed and met; repair, overhaul and install mechanical, hyraulic and electrical components to diagnose all type of malfunctions.
