Duties
You will perform a full range of repair, including overhauling rebuilds on a wide range of engineer equipment such as power shovels, bulldozers, etc.
You will overhaul, rebuild and/or repair gas and diesel operated engines. Disassembles engines, diagnoses malfunctions by inspecting for worn or damaged parts.
You will overhaul and/or repair conventional and automatic transmissions, differentials, transfer cases, clutch assemblies, torque converters, hydraulic systems, etc.
You will maintain, overhaul, and repair suspension systems, spring suspension systems, braking systems, conventional or power steering assembles, etc. Reassembles, adjusts, and tests for proper operating condition.
You will repair fuel and electrical, system by diagnosing malfunctions of carburetors, fuel injectors, fuel pumps, vacuum and pressure pumps, ignitions, lighting and power circuits, generators, motors, voltage regulators, controls, wiring, etc.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This is an emergency position, in event of an emergency, you will be notified to work outside of your regular duty hours.
- Must be able to obtain a Virginia Class B Commercial License with air brakes endorsement within 6 months.
- Must be certified in at least one ASE certification areas.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: the ability to do the work of the position without normal supervision in performing variety of interconnected systems (i.e. integrated electric, hydraulic, and air systems, and complex state of the art electrical and electric systems) and be familiar in the use of specialized diagnostic equipment to identify equipment problems for replace/repair of components.
