Please limit your resume to 5 pages. If more than 5 pages are submitted, only the first 5 pages will be reviewed to determine your eligibility/qualifications. About the Position: Serves as a Traffic Management Specialist in the SDDC Command Operations and Integration Center (COIC).

Duties

Responsible for In-Transit and Asset Visibility tracking of Army unit and ammunition movements using automated systems. Serve as the Domestic Movement Liaison and focal point for all rail and truck movement inside the Command Operation and Integration Center. Assemble, draft and submit for approval, the Situation Reports (SITREP) to support contingencies worldwide. Participate in the planning, direction, and execution of recurring operational reports in regard to operational movements of cargo worldwide. Assist the Battle Captain with preparing daily Operations Briefs and Commanders Update Briefs. Perform the collection, monitoring and tracking of Request For Information (RFIs), utilizing the organization email box, share point portal and current established operational pages to manage products.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
  • This is a Term position scheduled to last 3 years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.
  • Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • The incumbent may be required to work nonstandard duty hours (e.g., shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime-both scheduled and unscheduled.
  • This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) monitoring and/or tracking cargo movements, 2) analyzing technical transportation requirements and guidelines, and 3) preparing technical reports for distribution. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: CommunicationsData AnalysisTransportation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
