A successful candidate in this position will serve as the Deputy Assistant Manager for Safeguards and Security (DAMSS) and provides executive level security and program management support to the Field Office Management. The DAMSS performs federal oversight and management responsibilities for all Safeguards and Security (S&S) activities at SNL in New Mexico, California, the Tonopah Test Range, and other SNL remote sites.
Duties
As a Program Manager (Deputy Assistant Manager for Safeguards and Security) you will:
Serves as the Deputy Assistant Manager, Safeguards & Security (DAMSS) and provides executive level security and program management support to the Field Office Management.
Oversees and manages the implementation of DOE and NNSA-specific policies, procedures, programs, and management systems pertaining to development and implementation of Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) Safeguards and Security (S&S) program.
Evaluates and monitors security activities and makes substantive recommendations for program improvements.
Provides expert advice and technical assistance to managers and supervisors in a wide variety of areas.
Qualifications
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA pay band level or GS grade level in the Federal Service, i.e.,EN-03 pay band level or the GS-13 level.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
1) Overseeing and managing the implementation of policies, procedures, programs, and management systems.
2) Contributing substantive expertise in formulation, justification, and management of Nuclear Security Program budget elements pertinent to security functions.
3) Advising senior level management officials to include making decisions on work problems; recommend awards and changes in position classification; directs programs with significant resources.
