The Information Receptionist position is assigned to the Veteran Experience Office and under the direct supervision of the Supervisory Information Receptionist at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center, Dublin, Georgia.
Duties
Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provides a variety of information from inquiries received on a routine and recurrent basis. Questions the caller or visitor to gain and obtain information necessary to make a proper referral to give appropriate information or instructions.
Receives and directs callers and visitors, provides necessary information to patients and visitors, assists with locations of clinical appointments and check-ins.
Meets, greets, and assists with coordination of patient information services for the Service Unit. Informs of location and directions to clinics, office, and other services.
Provide assistance with patient self check-ins using Kiosks and arranging transportation for patients.
Assisting/Escorting Veterans to their appointment location if needed.
Serves as the authenticator for the MyHealthVet Program
Tracks patient clinic location/directions requests, signage and wayfinding deficiencies and other opportunities for improvement.
Maintain updated lists of Medical Center layouts and guides, renovation projects (changes in medical service locations) and inquiry tallies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, subject to change depending on the needs of the agency.

Qualifications
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-4 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-3. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

Physical Requirements: Work is performed throughout the Medical Center and includes extensive walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, etc., pushing visitors in wheelchairs. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Work is performed in adequate, lighted and climate controlled areas and may also require assistance to visitors located outdoors for short periods of time.
