This position is in the Strategic Business Office, Strategic Integration Office (SIO) in the Facilities Services Directorate (FSD) - serves as a Staff Officer responsible for overseeing the integration and standardization of FSD strategic messaging.

As a COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST, GS-0301-13, your typical work assignments under normal supervision may include the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:
Plan and organize strategic information programs, protocol, media relations, social media, community and Congressional relations, visual information, communication planning.
Develop programs and strategies to accurately develop communication policies and program initiatives.
Prepare and deliver oral presentations (i.e., briefings, training sessions, consultations and strategy sessions).
Develop and prepare a variety of correspondence.

- May be required to successfully complete a probationary/trial period.

- The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- This position may require occasional travel away from your normal duty station for official business on military or commercial aircraft.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to apply knowledge of communication and public affairs principles, practices and statutory regulatory requirements; knowledge and ability to develop communication products to convey information and facilitate decision making; knowledge of program or project planning and execution defining direction and strategy and plan of action; and the ability to develop presentations utilizing current technology.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
