This position is located in the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Federal Communications Commission (FCC), located in Washington, DC.
Relocation expenses will not be paid.

Duties
The incumbent supports OIG relationships with representatives of the Commission, Congress, the IG Community, oversight partners, news media and the public. This includes: researching, preparing, and supporting OIG personnel for participation in media interviews, congressional meetings, and other official engagements, to include arranging for and assisting in briefings, interviews, panels, recruitment events, and other activities as needed. The incumbent serves as a specialist responsible for supporting the OIG's communications, internal and external affairs program, which includes communications with various OIG stakeholders. Develops and disseminate a wide range of information concerning OIG programs and activities to internal and external OIG stakeholders, including the enhanced use of internal and external websites. The incumbent supports the development and implementation of OIG educational outreach and liaison program with key stakeholders; supporting the coordination of communications with and, responds to requests for information from the press, Congress, other agencies, and public by providing information about OIG programs, policies, and services; and organize, plan, and implement OIG media notifications, press releases, presentations, and social media content in connection with issuance of OIG reports, providing guidance and direction to other Immediate Office and OIG personnel assigned to assist with such tasks.

Qualifications

GS-13In order to be deemed as qualified candidates must have one year of specialized experience which is equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes:
Experience planning and evaluating public affairs and internal communications programs and projects;
Initiating and executing public and internal awareness activities and proactive outreach;
Developing and presenting informational material to achieve understanding of various points of view or concepts from stakeholders with varying levels of understanding and different interests.
