Duties
As a Public Health Analyst (Policy) you will:
Performs independent public health policy research, and or public health policy evaluation, as well as other programmatic activities to further organization's goals and objectives. Maintains a high level of knowledge related to health /public health policies. Applies public health principles to policy research. Provides leadership, expert technical advice, and coordination in policy research and policy development that will influence public health practice.
Develops and maintains systems to analyze complex and highly visible actions such as public health legislation, executive directives, Departmental policy issuances, voluntary changes in practice by influential organizations or groups, as well as other influential statements of policy with the potential to impact the activities of the division and center.
Cultivates and maintains relationships with other organizational units within CDC including other national centers, and offices within the CDC Office of the Director including CDC Washington, FMO/Leg, and others; other Federal agencies and quasi-governmental groups such as the CDC Foundation; and other key partners including national and international organizations, as well as others in the public sector.
Manages the processes for the establishment and tracking of the organization's goal setting efforts and is responsible for the overall completeness and quality of a comprehensive plan. The incumbent develops long-range plans for new and complex programs and assists leadership in linking the organizations activities and goals to the budget.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: evaluating and analyzing complex public health programs and policies to advise management on public health policies, operations, products, and services and contribute to the improvement of public health programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
