About the Position: Serve as a Deputy Division Chief for the Civilian Protection Center of Excellence (CP CoE), Operational Effects Division. Position is located at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA.
Duties
Plan, management oversight, direction, and execution of operational functions towards attainment of the division program objectives.
Ensure full integration of division operation functions and program evaluation.
Provide technical and managerial leadership in the development of overall goals and objectives for the division.
Develop responses to Congressional inquiries.
Ensure the work efforts of the division are performed in a timely manner.
Plan and assign workload to subordinates.
Control, analyze, research, and formulate official responses to written and telephonic requests.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position may require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
- This is a testing designated position. Personnel must pass drug screening prior to hiring and we be subject to periodic and random drug testing.
- One year Supervisory probationary period may be required.

GS-15 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical advice and guidance on Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response programs; utilizing knowledge of operational planning and exercises to assess the impact of proposed changes to an organization's warfighting approaches; and directing staff and other assigned resources in developing and executing division program objectives, policy, and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
