Duties

Performs mathematical calculations by various means of applying trigonometry, geometry, and algebra to determine angles, coordinates of critical dimensions, curves, clearances, and dimensional fits. Operates Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) machines of various types, sizes, and manufacturers. Conducts measuring techniques and preliminary plans for inspection. Reviews engineering blueprints to check for accuracy. Develops inspection requirements for single and multiple operations. Provides the lower grade personnel with technical assistance.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• You may be required to serve a one year probationary/trial period.
• Business travel requirements are 5% annually.
• This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

Qualifications

Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) one (1) year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five (5) years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted.
