Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees.
Duties
Develops, implements, evaluates and continually modifies all components of a comprehensive fitness and health promotion program. Program includes fitness facilities, group exercise classes, personal training, fitness and health promotion workshops, fitness, health and lifestyle assessments, command fitness conditioning and support, large-scale events, etc. Sets standards, provide vision and serves as a model for fitness programs Navy-wide.
Attends and participates in national conference
Requirements
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation.
- Must be able to work a schedule that meets the needs of the program
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Exercise Physiology, Physical Education, or Fitness or Nutrition Sciences is desirable or three (3) years' experience in a fitness facility
Must possess a current fitness certification from an accredited certifying health and fitness organization, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) and first aid certifications or be able to obtain within 60 days of being appointed to the position
Certified as a Command Fitness Leader and experience planning and programming fitness activities. Must be proficient with computer technology and use of basic software such as Microsoft Office, and be willing to learn and operate other software i.e. timekeeping/accounting/POS system/RECTRAC/Inventory control system and others as needed
Knowledge and experience with general business principles for financial planning/reporting and an understanding of the Department of Navy process and methods for Non-appropriated and Appropriated funds preferred
Experience executing and providing input to an operational budget
Ability to demonstrate both verbally and in writing the preparation of reports, written controls, program justification, program evaluations, and ability to communicate in front of a large group of people
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation or related field preferred
