This Position is located at Commander Navy Region Northwest, Naval Station Everett and the Jim Creek Recreation Area. The incumbent plans, develops, manages, supervises, and maintains a variety of outdoor programs and facilities, and is responsible for serving the diverse needs of patrons from around the world.
Duties
Incumbent plans, develops, manages, and maintains a military outdoor recreation program or a portion(s) thereof for a large community of active-duty military, their dependents, retirees, and authorized civilians.
Plans, coordinates, and schedules recurring and non-recurring activities, special events and joint community undertakings to maximize use of facilities and resources.
Identifies, coordinates, procures, and schedules maintenance and repair projects. Conducts frequent inspections to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
Provides guidance and leadership to the various outdoor recreation activities and participants, modifying, adapting, expanding, or otherwise changing plans and procedures for such activities as developments require.
Leads day to day operation of program to which assigned; assists with staffing, training, and scheduling.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion and maintenance of National Agency (NACI) background check
- Must be able to obtain certifications in First Aid and CPR within the first 90 days on the job
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Subject to a varied working schedule including holidays and weekends
Qualifications
Knowledge gained through education and training (i.e. Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Marketing, Business or closely related field) and/or equivalent recreation related work experience
Combination of experience related to customer service and/or activity based functions
Experience in preparing, monitoring, and executing an annual operating budget
Knowledge of the goals, principles, techniques and methods of procedures use in organizing, planning and conducting all types of activities
Ability to create, negotiate, implement and sustain partnerships via various MWR agreements
Program planning and leadership skills to devise and implement a leisure and social recreation program
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Education
Knowledge gained through education and training (i.e. Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Marketing, Business or closely related field) and/or equivalent recreation related work experience
