About the Position: As a Lead Emergency Service Dispatcher, provides emergency police, fire and medical services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls and responding with appropriate personnel and equipment. Maintains an accurate status of all emergency response equipment and personnel to assure prompt and accurate response.

Duties

Serve as a Lead Emergency Service Dispatcher, responsible for assuring that personnel assigned to the shift carry out work assignments in accordance with instructions. Answer 911 calls, conducts emergency and non-emergency call processing using Computer Aided Dispatch consoles or capability through NG911 modernization, if applicable, and or Land Mobile Radios. Monitor the installation computerized fire and alarm systems and initiate immediate action in response to all alarms to include coordination with effected agencies and dispatching appropriate response. Operate communications equipment and systems such as Telecommunications Devices for the Deaf, conventional and interoperability radio systems, the criminal database, the Mass Warning and Notification System to coordinate appropriate response. Maintain a variety of records, reports and logs in support of emergency services operations for compliance, reporting, inquires, and statistical data purposes. Please limit your resume to 5 pages. Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Subject to a 1 year probationary period unless the has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This is a "Mission Essential" position. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support operations.
  • Required to possess and maintain certification in CPR, Advanced Medical Priority Dispatch System, and DOD Hazardous Materials Awareness.
  • Obtain and maintain the Full Access National Crime Information Center and the Texas Crime Information Center certifications provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
  • This position is subject to emergency recall to duty.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Telecommunication II certification, continuous current certification is a condition of employment.
  • The incumbent must be able to obtain/maintain access to criminal justice information systems.
