About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Transnational Directorate in Charlottesville, VA 22911.
Duties
Provides professional advice on techniques and innovative methods employed in analysis and projection.
Ensures the finished product is consistent with applicable NGIC and Army intelligence positions and policies.
Utilize various disciplines including All Source, GEOINT and Open-Source analysis in support of branch’s global mission.
Maintains close liaison with counterparts in other government agencies and ensures coordination with other analysts across the Department of Defense (DOD).
Advises management and others on intelligence findings and recommends positions.
Plan, coordinate, and synthesize research from other analysts to prepare all-source intelligence products and responses.
Ensure the finished product is consistent with applicable NGIC with Army Intelligence positions and policies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation for sensitive compartmented information (SCI)
- Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required 25% or less of the time.
- All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience in All-Source Intelligence to include Facilities and Infrastructure analysis; and/or Targeting analysis; and/or Irregular Warfare analysis; and/or Conventional Warfare analysis; and/or Supply Chain analysis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GG/GS-12).
