About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Science and Technology Directorate, Advanced Conventional Weapons Division, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

Duties

Serves as a Division Chief within the Scientific and Technical Intelligence Directorate at NGIC. Responsible for planning, directing and evaluating the production of all-source, worldwide scientific and technical intelligence on the capabilities and performance of foreign ground force weapons systems and their associated technologies. Oversees research, analysis, evaluation and interpretation of raw intelligence data, engineering to identify significant trends that influence design, development and deployment of foreign Air Defense, ISR and Counter-C5ISR systems and capabilities. Develops, staffs, administers and manages the Division production program to include interface with customers and partners, forecasting production requirements and refining those requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
