About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Transnational Directorate, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
Duties
Serves as Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO) for Identity Intelligence (I2) at the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) in the Transnational Directorate. The I2 SIO is the most senior analyst and technical subject matter expert for I2.
Serves as the senior issue manager for I2 analysis and technical subject matter for all production and missions at the NGIC.
The I2 SIO manages the quality control and adherence to intelligence community directives for analytical standards related to the Directorate’s production.
Works with Division Chiefs, Senior Intelligence Officers (SIO), Senior Intelligence Analysts (SIA) in the Directorate and across the NGIC, to plan integrated production, ensure its focus on priority issues, identify gaps and plan collection.
Advises analysts in answering the most difficult intelligence problems through the application of a wide variety of structured analytic techniques, data science, and modeling and simulation.
Assists the I2 Division in the evolution of the Defense Watchlist.
Responsible for building relationships and networks with I2 counterparts across the Army, DoD, and national-level intelligence communities
Serves as the Army’s recognized technical expert on critical Identity Intelligence analysis, defense watchlisting, and policy issues.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
