This position is located in Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA) located in the Mark Center, Alexandria, Virginia.The functions of this position are to lead and manage the review, formulation, coordination, and execution of internal management and operating policies and procedures.

Duties

Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Serves as a Senior Export Control Analyst and Team Leader of the assigned team in the Export Control Directorate. Serves as the principal for development of the DoD position for all assigned team license applications reviewed by the DoD. Serves as the team principal advisor to the Director, Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA) on all International Traffic in Arms Regulatory licenses and commodity jurisdiction requests pertaining to the team commodity portfolio. Responsible for communicating to the team assignments, problems to solve, milestones, deadlines and suspense dates that must be met. Conducts quality control review of the recommended DoD position to ensure consistency of decisions with precedent cases and current U.S. government export laws and policies.

  • Position has been designated as Top-Secret ***Special Sensitive***. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a ***Top-Secret*** security clearance.
  • The incumbent must adhere to DoD Standards of Conduct
  • Travel to both CONUS and OCONUS locations via military or commercial aircraft may be required.
  • The incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and/ or mandatory overtime.

Qualifications

Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-15 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-14 or higher grade in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-14 if outside the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as... Developing, coordinating and interpreting recommended decisions, assessments and recommendations related U.S. foreign policy goals, technology security and plans. Analyzing and reviewing the national security implications of military significant technology trade issues; analyzing and reviewing the technical policy. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GS-15 grade level.
