You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist, Social Media Expert, in the Integration & Outreach Division of NAVAL HISTORY AND HERITAGE COMMAND.
Duties
At the GS-09 level you will perform developmental duties, as assigned.
At the Full Performance Level (GS-11) you will perform the duties listed below:
You will coordinate with agencies, both internal and external, regarding Naval History and Heritage Command’s support of physical, on-site events.
You will write planning and logistics documents to include key themes and messaging and event-specific details to align with command mission and greater Navy public affairs initiatives.
You will collaborate with the social media team to create event-specific content tailored to projected audiences and determine best posting opportunities for maximum reach and engagement.
You will gather event and location-tailored materials, such as infographic handouts, publications, and command-specific information for audience distribution and display.
You will execute event plans. Typically involves being on-site as an exhibitor and interacting with the public, veterans, and senior Navy/military leadership. Excellent oral communication and presentation skills a must.
You will analyze event execution to create an after-action report that highlights significant interactions, success in meeting objectives, and to make recommendations for future support of event or location.
You will support command-led commemorative activities, such as the Navy Birthday and Battle of Midway, as needed.
Requirements

Qualifications
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate all of the following: 1) Providing and creating historically accurate material to be shared and published on enterprise social media websites; 2) Planning, producing and delivering (posting) web-based communication content; 3) Using industry standard software to produce and edit written, photographic, graphic, and video content; 4) Measuring the impact of social media posts and programs using benchmarks and key performance indicators; and 5) Analyzing, reviewing, and reporting on effectiveness of campaigns.
GS-9: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate all of the following: 1) Providing and creating historically accurate material to be shared and published on enterprise social media websites; 2) Planning, producing and delivering (posting) web-based communication content; and 3) Using industry standard software to produce and edit written, photographic, graphic, and video content.

Education
GS-11: In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
