You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the NAVFAC Norfolk Business Directorate Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will develop and administer a contingency plan for Information Security which includes safeguarding classified material, emergency destruction, or
reporting of emergency destruction.
You will analyze Personnel Security investigation documentation for validity in accordance with regulatory requirements.
You will review Physical Security programs to develop new and improved operating procedures for the organization.
You will process Industrial Security requests (e.g., DD Forms, contract security classification specifications, national interest determinations, issuing
applicable security classification guides) to determine level of information access.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Security Fundamentals Professional certification.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Establishing security policies and procedures and monitoring adherence by all elements of the organization; 2) Developing and implementing internal security procedures to ensure proper handling and safeguarding of classified material; 3) Using Personnel Security Programs and databases to initiate, review and process Personnel Security Investigations and security clearance; 4) Analyzing security training needs and administering effective Security Program Training to all levels of employees; 5) Evaluating security problems and/or threats and recommending preventative measures to senior management.
