You will serve as a PRODUCTION FACILITY SPECIALIST in the PRODUCTION QUALITY DIVISION, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will review, monitor, observe, investigate, report and mentor compliant execution of production work requirement.
You will implement production code policies and procedures related to shipyard operations.
You will apply analytical problem-solving techniques to improve efficiency of production processes.
You will provide routine reports as evidence to make recommendations on issues regarding production.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience scheduling reports including identification of SUBSAFE/Steam Plant, and Level-1 Material Control Designator/ fabrication, installation, inspection, and testing operations.
Experience gathering data for assessment and analysis principles and techniques.
Experience identifying root causes and corrective actions including participation in fact-finding and critique investigations for SUBSAFE/ Steam Plant Cleanliness associated work.
Experience applying thorough knowledge of SUBSAFE and re-entry control programs applied to production work execution requirements, including reentry control and Unrestricted Operations/Maintenance Record Card (URO/MRC) status reports.
Experience implementing production code policies and procedures related to shipyard operations.
