About the Position: This position is within the Defense Health Agency, located in Martin Army Community Hospital at Fort Moore, Georgia. Incumbent is responsible for the receipt, storage and issuance of a wide range of food supplies within the Nutrition Care Division of the facility.

Duties

Receive and unpack a variety of materials that are delivered to the medical treatment facility. Inspect materials to verify they are correct and in proper condition. Sort, mark, and store materials according to standardized operating procedures. Move items manually, by hand cart, or by other material-handling equipment to designated areas. Utilize computerized logistics system to receipt and track materials for the Department.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• Lifting up to 40 pounds may be required.
• This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
• This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.

I have the ability to perform common materials handler tasks such as moving items or supplies according to storage requirements; monitoring supply stock levels on a daily basis; evaluating space requirements for maximizing storage capacity; entering equipment details into an inventory management system. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Working Conditions: Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors and occasionally require exposure to bad weather conditions. Storage areas may be hot, cold, damp, drafty, poorly ventilated and lighted. Work is sometimes dirty, dusty and greasy. Is subject to cuts, scrapes, bruises and broken bones as a result of accidents.
