About the Position: The position is located at the Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Fleet Management Expansion (FMX), Fort Moore, GA. Fort Moore is located 100 miles south of Atlanta, GA, and adjacent to Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL.
Duties
Select items for shipment or issue by referring to locator cards.
Compare identifying information on documents with stock tags or rack markings.
Transfer materials to proper location or establish new location when the decision is obvious.
Place materials in appropriate temporary or permanent storage locations, according to specific oral or written instructions and established methods.
Ensure materials are shipped in properly marked, tagged and labeled containers.
Regulate movement of materials by laborers or equipment operators to assembly area or pickup area.
Re-stack and re-warehouse items as needed for safety.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is a Testing Drug Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing as a condition of employment. The incumbent of this position must sign a DA Form 5019-R as a condition of employment.
- Pre-appointment medical examination/physical is required.
- Subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban (Lautenberg Amendment). This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Handler without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common material handler duties such as selecting items for shipment, unloading conveyances and moving supplies by hand cart or other non-mechanized conveyances. Tally out shipments and complete documents after assuring that materials are shipped in properly marked, tagged and labeled containers. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Work requires reaching, bending, turning, pulling, standing and walking. There is frequent lifting, pushing and pulling of items weighing up to 20 pounds and occasional weights up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Usually works in shop buildings that are well lighted, heated and ventilated. Stands on concrete floors or other hard surfaces for long periods. Is exposed to oil, grease, and solvents when cleaning and lubricating weapons. Frequently exposed to the possibility of minor cuts and bruises from tools or sharp edges of metal. May be required to perform work outside at a firing range environment for contact repairs or weapons exchanges. Is subject to noise during weapon test firing or Soldier training event.
