This position is located in the Small Business Administration, OPPCFO/Office of Financial Operations Management in Denver, CO. The incumbent studies the operating program and performs special projects using analytical and evaluation methods. Work is related to administrative accounting and fiscal examination functions.
Duties
Provide oversight and guidance to payment processes in the SBA.
Assess risk areas and program weaknesses to determine review desired.
Determine analytical methods and statistical data required to conduct reviews.
Justify and argue a course of action/recommendation with upper management and negotiate when opinions differ.
Provide narrative and visual presentations to outline the work effort and to effectively demonstrate the objectives and outcome of the assignment.
Supervise a subordinate staff.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen.
- You must successfully complete a background investigation.
- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- You may be required to serve a one year supervisory probationary period.
Qualifications
GS-12: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: Leading and/or supervising a team; reviewing accounting work products of peers and subordinates; reviewing and analyzing internal accounting data to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance; reviewing and performing accounts payables such as travel, grants, and/or contracts; and using financial systems to enter transactions, perform research, generate reports, and/or perform analysis; preparing accounting reports in compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.

TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled.

Education
Mandatory Education Requirement for the Accounting (0501) series:
Degree: A degree in a related field such as business administration, finance or accounting.
