This is a non-bargaining unit position. This is not a (drug) testing designated position (TDP).
This position is with the Small Business Administration, Financial Operations and Acquisitions Management in Denver, CO. Manage the customer help desk, travel and payments section encompassing the agency-wide travel system, credit card program, end-user support for help desk functions, the disaster office and vendor payments.
Duties
Provides administrative and technical supervision to a team of employees in professional, administrative, and technical occupations.
Reviews, directs, and develops agency policy related to the agency travel program/procedures, the charge/travel card programs, and payments process.
Uses persuasion and fact-based arguments to sway other Federal Agencies and General Service Administration to ensure the unique needs of the SBA are addressed.
Identifies problem areas and initiates revisions and enhancements in the associated processes to achieve goals, to improve financial controls, to provide accurate and usable reports, and to conform to sound accounting and financial management practices.
Advises agency officials on services and serves as the agency technical expert on all help desk operations.
Writes and reviews subordinates' writing of instructions or procedure manuals for operating personnel in SBA.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- You may be required to serve a one year supervisory probationary period.
Qualifications
GS-14
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector:
1) Supervising or leading other accountants and/or financial specialists pertaining to financial and accounting work; AND
2) Applying federal travel, Treasury, GAO, OMB Circular regulations, and other authoritative guidelines; AND
3) Evaluating financial management functions and accounting activities to ensure management and internal controls are implemented and effective; AND
4) Resolving issues, increasing productivity, and improving business processes.
