Performs a wide variety of administrative duties in support for the overall administration function of the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System, Sterile Processing Service, Gainesville.
Duties
Ensuring policies and procedures are followed to support organizational goals.
Serves as a PIV sponsor for all Sterile Processing employees.
The position requires the ability to articulate information about payroll and timekeeping.
Takes initiative to solve problems and follows up until resolved.
Prioritize and complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining focus and adapting to shifting priorities and deadlines.
Demonstrates the skill and ability to handle several projects at one time, many interruptions in workflow and several deadlines and demands.
The Administrative Support Assistant (OA) will generate memos, correspondence, and place calls as required by the Chief of Sterile Processing.
Perform records management functions as a Records Liaison to include records creation and collection, maintenance and use, and disposition.
The Administrative Support Assistant (OA) must be a qualified typist of at least 40 words per minute and understand formatting requirements for any correspondence or policy used by the facility.
Provide professional and courteous assistance to customers or stakeholders, resolving inquiries and directing them to the appropriate resources.
The Administrative Support Assistant (OA) must have the ability to respond pleasantly and with skill, tact, diplomacy, and discretion when interacting on the telephone or face-to-face with individuals from inside or outside the NF/SG VHS and at different levels, e.g., medical center administration, clinical staff, and support staff.
Must offer proactive support with customer demands and complaints, understanding the cause of issues and taking steps to remedy it.???????

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/16/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Proficiency Requirements: In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of the following skill of 40 words per minute typing speed.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Composes letters requesting information of services requesting information needed.
Provides customer service to include telephone calls & correspondence from internal and external customers.
Serve as primary timekeeping, attendance, and leave administrator for the service line.
Experience with Microsoft Office to include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.
Preferred Experience: Must have one year of verifiable experience with the timekeeping role in VATAS/GovTA.
