This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Science & Technology Directorate (S&T), Chief Information Office (CIO), Office of Enterprise Services (OES).
The primary purpose of this position is performing work that ensures the ongoing availability, confidentiality, and integrity of systems, networks, and data through the maintenance and enhancement of information systems security programs.
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a IT Specialist (INFOSEC), GS-2210-14, your typical work assignments may include:
Serving as an expert for conducting strategic planning for future systems, data networking services and IT environments to accommodate the growing needs of S&T.
Managing IT project activities and resources to achieve project objectives and milestones to ensure the mission of S&T.
Providing oversight to ensure program/project work is adhere to the larger strategic view developed by senior management at DHS and serves as the point of contact for elevating unexpected issues that may arise to senior leadership.
Being responsible for program/project resources, allocation plans, workforce development plans, budget forecasts, initiatives, and policies.
Work encompasses the decision-making and negotiation responsibilities involved in executing the program efforts. This entails the ability to provide a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks within the IT systems, ensuring IT systems are resilient against emerging threats.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
1) Managing programs/projects related to IT networking and/or information assurance, as well as other
relevant area of responsibility. 2) Leading cybersecurity engineering initiatives which include developing IT infrastructure solutions that aligns with zero trust principles and securing cloud environments with best practices and governance regulatory requirements. 3) Monitoring and evaluating the zero-trust integration's performance, making necessary adjustments to adapt to evolving security threats and business needs.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
