Provides oversight of front office administrative functions supporting the Assistant Secretary (AS), Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary (PDAS) and Chief of Staff (CoS). Supervises, coordinates and deconflicts the AS, PDAS and CoS daily and long term calendars. Trains and supports administrative staff in subordinate organizations. Executes sensitive and non-sensitive projects for the AS, PDAS and CoS.
Duties
The incumbent plays a key management role within OEI, and by extension within the Department, as Supervisory Executive Assistant with responsibility for supervising the administrative functions for 3 senior executives as executed by subordinate front office staff assistants. This includes the development of senior executive daily and long-range calendars, proactively deconflicting as necessary, and assisting with their execution. Actively coordinates with and provides training as needed to staff assistants in subordinate OEI organizations to best facilitate communication and mission accomplishment. When required, executes special projects for the AS, PDAS or CoS that may be sensitive in nature.

Qualifications

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-14 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-13 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.
