About the Position: This position is with Headquarters (HQs), US Army Corps of Engineers, located at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO); 441 G. Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20314. This position will be filled on a permanent basis.

Duties

Works under the general supervision of the G-3, US Army Corps of Engineers; Interprets the guidance and intent of USACE senior leaders and weaves it into planning guidance and contingency doctrine. Oversees the development and management of the G-3 operating budget and ensures the efficient management of the Office. Provides supervision and leadership to subordinates both civilian and military. Supervises the development of training programs of instruction for expeditionary and reachback USACE capabilities intended to support military contingency operations and civil disaster response.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Program SecuritySecurity Program ManagementWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
