Duties
Act as an International Military Student Office liaison to training/teaching departments to plan and coordinate proposed activities outside the U.S. Army War College (USAWC) curriculum.
Greet incoming international military students.
Schedule "Orientation Course" and in/out processing activities.
Update field studies activity reports in the International Military Student Office (IMSO) web.
Assist and review invitation travel orders.
Ensure all students are listed in the Security Assistance Network Training database.
Maintain professional relationship, and liaison, pertaining to all matters involving international fellow educational issues.
Establish and maintain personnel data for all U.S. Army War College (USAWC) International Fellow Alumni within the southwestern half of the U.S. Army European Command (USEUCOM) area of responsibility.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to operate a 15-passenger van.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 pounds in the regular performance of duties.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
- This is an obligated position. The selectee will be asked to sign an agreement acknowledging that they are aware of the obligation and willing to be displaced under reduction in force procedures upon the return of the former incumbent.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
- This position requires extended workdays and may require coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position may require the incumbent to be on-call for mission requirements.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This is a Non-Key Security Cooperation (SC) position which requires the incumbent to comply with all requirements of the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Cooperation Workforce (SCW) certification program.
- The incumbent must complete certification-related training requirements in the SC Area of Consideration (AoC) within the timeframe associated with the position's SCW certification level (Intermediate Level).
- Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience, which includes: 1) Utilizing various automated databases to produce/maintain data; 2) Preparing a variety of materials, such as, rosters, reports, course schedules and/or routine correspondences; AND 3) Providing support for events, activities, and/or assisting with orientation or in/out processing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Business Management, Human Resources, International Studies/Relations, or another related field.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
