You will serve as a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the SUSTAINMENT GROUP of NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND.

Duties

You will provide supervision to assigned subordinate staff including selection, performance evaluation, workload review and resolving employee issues. You will review and approve ILA reports, letters, and other documents and correspondence for senior management review and signature and keep management and IPT members apprised of issues that are of interest or concern as part of the ILA process. You will maintain a trend analysis process and report the trends identified through the ILA process, to include an analysis of that data to identify trends; develops briefs and papers that document the analysis and make recommendations. You will review and approve of follow-up actions to completed assessments until all actions are resolved. You will identify and track programs that will require an ILA, as well as assigns programs requiring an assessment to a team leader and ensures that programs requiring an assessment are identified on an ILA schedule.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Understanding of the policies and procedures of integrated logistics support (ILS) concepts and disciplines applied throughout the design and development of acquisition and life cycle support of Naval aviation weapon systems and equipment; 2) Providing supervision to assigned subordinate staff including selection, performance evaluation, workload review and resolving employee issues; 3) Understanding of: related engineering principles, reliability and maintainability, safety, configuration management, maintenance planning and management policies, characteristics of a variety of NAVAIR systems and equipment and attendant logistics requirements, the PPBS and the Navy DOD program management and organizational management policies, principles, requirements and procedures; 4) Integrating a large variety of work into coherent plans, and communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
