This position is within the Drug and Alcohol Programs Division, Office of Safety Programs, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). The Drug and Alcohol Programs Division provides clear policy guidance to FMCSA personnel, State and local law enforcement, and the motor carrier industry. You will serve as a Transportation Specialist and be responsible for providing assistance on the Agency’s Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience requirements.To qualify for the Grade 13, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-12, it must include:
Experience with motor carrier policies, procedures, and regulations in the implementation of program goals and objectives.
Experience interpreting statutes, regulations directives, orders, policies, and procedures to determine potential impact on Agency goals and objectives.
Experience applying analytical, fact-finding, and problem-solving techniques through the interpretation of Federal regulations policies, and guidelines, to recommend programmatic changes.
Experience communicating orally and in writing technical expertise and policy and procedural interpretations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Compliance - Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance.
