Duties
You will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and recoverability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.
You will be involved in the development of procedures-to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access lo systems, networks, and data.
You will participate in conducting risk and vulnerability assessments. security system evaluations and audits of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
You will conduct periodic system maintenance include cleaning, disk checks, routine reboots, data dumps, and testing; developing systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures.
You will work with various IT teams to develop and implement programs to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to IT security policies and procedures.
You will assess security events to determine impact and implementing corrective actions; and/or assess the effectiveness of Cybersecurity controls.
You will mitigate and correct security deficiencies identified during security/assessment testing and recommend risk acceptance for the appropriate senior leader or authorized representative.
You will ensure all systems security operations and maintenance activities are properly documented and updated as necessary.
You will work with stakeholders to resolve Cybersecurity incident and vulnerability compliance.
You will review and assess all configuration management (change configuration/release management) processes for improvement.
You will ensure the rigorous application of Cybersecurity and IT security policies, principles and practices in the delivery of all IT services.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Ensuring the security, compliance, and risk management of information systems to implement policies and procedures, conduct assessments, and provide guidance on threats and vulnerabilities for the safeguarding of systems, networks, and data within a program.
Examples of Qualifying Experience:
1. Demonstrated advanced knowledge and skill in the protection of the network infrastructure environment.
2. Demonstrated advanced knowledge and skill in systems security assessment and authorization (A&A (Risk Management Framework (RMF))) requirements and processes, Federal information systems security protocols.
3. Demonstrated advanced knowledge and skill in applying Cybersecurity and IT security concepts, principles, methods, and best practices as well as methods for evaluating, developing, implementing, and disseminating Cybersecurity and IT security tools, guidelines and procedures.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of security engineering tools such as intrusion detection systems, firewalls, proxy servers, IA, PKI, and VPNs.
5. Demonstrated knowledge in developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of IT services throughout the agency.
6. Demonstrated ability to provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IT issues.
7. Demonstrated knowledge of Internet technologies to monitor and evaluate IT systems compliance and performance using Cybersecurity and IT security requirements.
8. Demonstrated communication skills (oral and written) necessary to work with a wide variety of personnel, including the executive level, and to prepare and present reports.
