You will serve as a IT Specialist (CUSTOMER SUPPORT) in the IT Division, Cyber Operations & Security Department of SUPSHIP.
Duties
You will apply analytical processes to the planning, design, and implementation of Navy/Marine Corp Intranet (NMCI) services to improve customer support, information systems and networks.
You will work directly with government acquisition professional and Huntington Ingalls Newport News (HII-NNS) representatives in the management and performance of critical NMCI network infrastructures.
You will develop and prepare preliminary reviews and documentation needed for each implementation phase of NMCI.
You will advise personnel on all application and utilization aspects of end-user IT support.
You will work with network engineers and contractors on-site to maintain connectivity and interfaces with networks and services (e.g., e-mail, portal, file shares, voice, video).
You will monitor NMCI system and network capacity and performance.
You will determine the scope of work and funding levels for various IT systems.
You will ensure all computer hardware and software components are compatible and properly configured to interface with users’ currently installed software and
hardware products to preclude system conflicts or malfunctions.
You will ensure end-user devices, to include desktop computers, notebooks, and mobile devices (IOS), tablets, printers, servers, scanners, and common access card readers are properly configured and updated with the latest patches or service packs.
You will mitigate Cybersecurity and IT security compromises to include electronic spillages.
You will establish, validate, and monitor file permissions for end users in conjunction with the individual personnel requirements and ensures authorized user access.
You will monitor the contractor helpdesk and customer satisfaction database information.
You will monitor and validate the contractor’s compliance with the established Service Level Agreements, providing the data required by Navy Shipbuilding Program Offices and higher echelons.
You will perform analysis to define opportunities for new or improved business process solution in the development and continuity of operations of NMCI services.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical customer support services related to the planning and delivery of Navy/Marine Corp Intranet (NMCI) services.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: training customers and less experienced customer support employees in the use of NMCI systems and applications.
